Use the Format Cells Option to change the Border color

  • Select the range of cells that you want to change the border color. Right-click and select the Format cells option.

  • Format cells window will appear. Select the Border tab.

  • Choose the style of the border. Choose from the sample given.
  • Select the color of your border you like.
  • Set border for outline and also inside. A preview will be shown.
  • Press OK to complete the task.

Use the Border drop-down from the ribbon menu

  • Select the range of cells you want to change the border color.
  • Go to the Home tab Font group, and click the All border button to get the drop-down menu.

  • From the dropdown menu select Line Color and choose your desired color.

  • Your mouse cursor will be changed to a drawing pencil.
  • With the help of that drawing pencil and mouse, you can change the border color of all desired cells.

Using Advanced Option

  • Go to the File tab, and click Options. Excel Options will appear in front of you.
  • Go to the Advanced Option, and find Display options for this worksheet. Select gridline and gridline color.

Keyboard shortcut method

This is the most smart way to change the border color. You can remember it by AltHBI method.

  • Press the Alt key of your keyboard to open the Home tab.
  • Press the H key of your keyboard to open the Border menu.
  • Press the I key of your keyboard to open the Line Color menu.
  • Now select your desired color to be changed.
  • Your mouse cursor will be changed to a drawing pencil.
  • With the help of that drawing pencil and mouse, you can change the border color of all desired cells.border color change

Set a Custom Table Style

  • Select the range of cells in your table.
  • Go to the Home tab, and click Format as Table under the Styles group.
  • Select the design you like most.
